Wings & Power
"Do you not know? Have you not heard?
The Everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth
Does not become weary or tired.
His understanding is inscrutable.
29He gives strength to the weary,
And to him who lacks might He increases power.
30Though youths grow weary and tired,
And vigorous young men stumble badly,
31Yet those who wait for the Lord
Will gain new strength;
They will mount up with wings like eagles,
They will run and not get tired,
They will walk and not become weary."
Isaiah 40:28-31 NASB
Lets think about this for a moment....
"Have you never heard?
Have you never understood?
The Lord is the everlasting God,
the Creator of all the earth.
He never grows weak or weary.
No one can measure the depths of his understanding.
29He gives power to the weak
and strength to the powerless.
30Even youths will become weak and tired,
and young men will fall in exhaustion.
31But those who trust in the lord will find new strength.
They will soar high on wings like eagles.
They will run and not grow weary.
They will walk and not faint."
Isaiah 40:28-31 NLT
I got to spend a very fun evening at the Car show Cruise night the other evening and was handing out Bethlehem flyers while I was at it.
As i thought back over the evening I wondered......
As i thought back over the evening I wondered......
How many of those thousands of people don't know God?
My God My Savior.
He NEVER grows weary.
He gives Power and Strength to the weak and powerless.
When I remember to wholly trust HIM,
He gives me wings like eagles,
running strength to endure,
and the ability to walk and not feel faint.
No matter what Satan throws my way. I will remember to wholly trust and lean on God. (attempt it with my whole heart)
I love this passage of scripture and it reminds me of a book I am reading and this section of it.
"Let's be clear, no matter which way you gravitate, Satan is NOT God. And he is NOT God's counterpart or peer. They're not even on the same playing field. His influence, authority and power don't even touch the fringe of what our Lord is capable of doing. Read ahead to Revelation 19 & 20 sometime, the so-called titanic clash of Armageddon. Know what it really is? More like the devil and his demons getting all dressed up with no place to go. It's over before it even starts. The only thing that makes it a war is that he becomes a prisoner of war. Satan is nothing but a copycat, trying desperately to convince you he's more powerful than he actually is. Because remember: he does have limitations----boundaries he cannot cross no matter how much he desires or how hard he tries. For instance....
He can't be everywhere at once (only God is omnipresent)
He can't read your mind (only God is omniscient)
He is merely an illusionist, using cunning trickery to deceive and mislead (only God can work flat-out, unmistakable miracles).
And last, but certainly not least....
He's running out of time (our God is eternal).
So even though he's been given temporary clearance to strategize and antagonize, we don't need to pray from a position of fear and weakness against him. Quite the opposite. You and I, coming to the Father through the mighty name of Jesus, can pray like the victorious saints of God we've been empowered to be. And we can expect to prevail. But we can't expect to experience this power unless we're serious about joining the battle in prayer." (Fervent By Priscilla Shirer)
When I talk to God and tell Him everything I have the wings like eagles and the power to run and not be weary and walk and not faint. And the Devil doesn't stand a chance.
Stand firm my friends. God and His timing are perfect!
