God is Good!



I believe that we all know in our hearts and heads that God is good, however believing that is sometimes very, very hard.I spent the better part of the last four months of last year knowing in my head and my heart that God is good and He proved that to me with the Bethlehem project and all the blessings that came with the trials of that outreach!


Although it is only the third month of the year it has been a very LONG year.


I brought in the new year with almost a whole week off due to an allergy/sinus infection that literally had me whispering.


I started the first full week of the year by refreshing my resume. God literally told me that I was done working retail and I was not supposed to job search in the food industry. Since I have no college education all I could do was trust that God knew what was next for me.


I went to check into a college course that very week and enrolled and was accepted.


That same week my refrigerator compressor bit the dust...not even two years old and it needed replaced and of course was no longer under warranty. I lived for the better part of a month with no refrigerator(there is more to that story).


The week I bought a new(thanks for helping me mom and dad) fridge(note here that I have a school loan at this point) I have a clogged sewer line. No showering, dishwasher, or washing machine use at my house and flush the toilet like three times a day maybe(no toilet paper down the toilet) (Thank you Paul and Rachel for the use of your shower, washing machine).


I lived like this for the better part of three weeks. The sewer line got replaced just two days ago and I was THRILLED!!! I washed clothes in my washing machine and showered at home (baths were fine in about an inch of water.).

All this to say that despite the trials I was finding joy in the struggle of home ownership.


Today I load the dishwasher and it doesn't work. All I can do is laugh and say GOD IS GOOD!


Ladies and Gentlemen,

Consider it PURE JOY when you encounter trials and tribulations BECAUSE God promised we would have troubles in this world but to TAKE HEART because HE has overcome the world!

God is Good! So very very GOOD!

I choose to sing

It is April 6, 2020. Corona-virus is a Pandemic currently holding the world in a clutching fear and chaos. On the flip side of the same coin are the people who don't think it is any big deal. Also held in some sort of fear even though they would deny it. I don't start this post out with that sentence to start a debate or a war. I start it as the truest statement of the world as I can see it, from the small corner I call home. I have family grieving the loss of their mother(my great Aunt) from the homes they are quarantined too because of this virus. There is no final viewing to say goodbye. There is no one last hug and kiss and squeeze of their mother's hand. The Coroner arrived at their home to pick up the bag of clothing they wanted their mom buried in and he had to pick it up from the driveway, spray it down while dressed with gloves and mask. "and as your days, so shall your strength be"

I think we can all say the last year and a half has been a different kind of struggle.  On so many different levels.  As I was driving home from work today this song came back from years of playing it with my mom and brother. It struck me how many times as a young kid I didn't like this music or that music because it was "old fashioned", but now the stuff I used to call old fashioned has become my theme and or reminder of Who my Strength comes from. Todays Christian worship music is good and can brighten a day and some of it is even amazing and has the core of what our hearts need to hear, but it isn't quite the same as the "old fashioned" music we didn't like as kids. There are so many good friends and family members in my prayers for this or that.
