Purpose according to God's Calling
It's been a while...life has changed on so many fronts. The world is in various forms of chaos.
The fear level is rising. People are anxious and scared. They need the peace that Jesus offers.
In the course of the last year, I had someone come and ask me to help them with an Easter production. I took out my Bible and wrote a sript for a community outreach. It was intense writing. I did not want to add to or subtract from what Scripture says happened. The community outreach was a success and well attended for a first year. God brought it together and brought the guests that He wanted to hear His message.
I can honestly say working on that production gave me purpose again. You see I was the production manager for a Christmas church sponsored community outreach for 10 years and due to the pandemic it was kept from happening. Two years the reason we didn't do it was because of the pandemic. Last year the reason was similar.
I was down. It isn't to say I don't have purpose because the event wasn't happening again... I have purpose. I have family that I absolutly love spending time with, playing board or card games, talking, laughing, having a good time...eating so much delicious food. I have purpose as a daughter, sister, sister in law, aunt, violin teacher, retail associate, a friend, chosen family and a daughter of God.
But the purpose I didn't know I was missing was the calling which came from God.
Yes, I am called by God to be my parents daughter, my brother's sister, my sister in law's sister in law, my nephews and nieces aunt, a violin teacher to my violin students, a hard worker as a retail associate, a friend to my friends, chosen family to my chosen family and God's daughter.
But the calling from God was the production which hasn't happened in three years. The calling from God which is happening this year again.
To say that my heart is overflowing with happiness is an understatement!
Since January I have, with God's help and the help of many a volunteer, have put on an Easter production to share Jesus story with my community. And now I am working on, with God's help and the help of many a volunteer, the Christmas production which is in a new location and community volunteer supported.
I've had people tell me that I should do one or the other production and not both so that I could do one very well instead of both partially well. I have had others tell me that they would have thought that I would have just moved the Christmas production set pieces and set them back up in their new location and not do the actual production until 2024.
Let me tell you something I've learned.
When God calls you to do His ministry - He opens the doors, the pathway, the road, and even the windows. He expects you to fullfill His calling in the way He has set out for you.
Is it challenging? Yes.
Is it growth spurt painful soemtimes? Yes
Does it mold you? Yes
Does it change you? Yes
Is it supposed to do all that? Yes
God brought the Christmas production back into my life with one phone call and let me tell you - while my schedule is full and the challenges abound I am beyond grateful that even through three years of waiting God saw fit to bring the time back around to the calling He placed on my life.
If God is calling you to do something - do it! Don't wait for others to tell you when or how to do it!
Do it according to what He tells you - When He tells you to!
You see - God blesses those who wait, are patience, and follow after what He calls them to do.
God's purpose is the only one to live for - whatever that purpose may be
Until next post - Tell His Story - for His Glory - and to further His Kingdom
Know therefore that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God, who keeps His covenant and His lovingkindness to a thousandth generation with those who love Him and keep His commandments; Deuteronomy 7:9
